which is better?

i want to hear your opinion on which you consider the "most fun" too shoot. Semi-auto or the revolver. i say the Semi-Auto cuz i guess im just new school but my dad love those six shooters.

I am with you in that I enjoy shooting semi-autos as well. Revolvers are cool and all, but I like the tactical feel of shooting a nice pistol.

I own a revolver and have only used a semi-automatic in the Navy while on Guard Duty. I am looking for a suitable semi-automatic, preferably small enough for concealed carry.

The gun that won the west wasn't registered

i have a kel tec 32 and a bersa 380. the bersa is good to carry on youer side with a coat over it. the kel tec is a good pocket gun.

I would say that I prefer the semi auto. It has more bangs than a revolver. Which of course means more time reloading the magazines. Guess it all works out in the end.

The semi due to that you can get them in a compact size, and still shoot good. If you get a revolver, you would almost have to get a stubnose 2" to 3" to be comfortable on you. I don't know about you but most stubnose revolver don't shoot that good, compared to a sub-compact. It all depends what your looking to do with it. but if i lived in alaska i would go with a large bore revolver, due to i wouldn't like to be lunch. but that my 2 cents

I use to own a stubnose 44 mag with a 2 inch barrel and I could shoot a quarter size group with it at 25 yards. I have shot everything from a 2" to a 12" barrel. It does not matter about the size of the barrel when shooting it to be accurate. I'm like the rest of you I do like a revolver but I like the auto because of the number of rounds you can carry.

I like the semi auto also. One thing to consider about a revolver though. If you get one with a concealed hammer, you can fire it from within a pocket or a bag. Something you cant do with any semi auto.

I see your point, but highly doubt that it would get caught. If you were using a strijer fired DA semi auto (like a XD, since you gasp at glocks) where there is no external hammer I see no problems. I don't think that the slde would get caught... and even if it did, the bullet had already been fired and the casing was being ejected.

Back to the origional question. I think both serve good purposes. I own both, and enjoy shooting both. But if I could only own one handgun, it would have to be automatic.

I like the feel of a wheel gun. Defense is what I use mine for.
Semi-auto especially when it comes to tactical.

yes

the guns that we shoot hold lives with every bullet. one mis caculation and we or them will pay the price. my girl still loves her bro but i cant imagine why the next time i see him there is going to be hell to pay i have been shot 3 times i know what she went through. the pain is unbearable. so next time i see him hes going to pay. i have no problem serving 10 years to keep my girl safe.

I had a kel-tec sub 2000 with 30 round mags (until NY deemed them Illegal). 9mm. Lined up sporting clays on a mound out back. I loved seeing them pop...

We still have the Assault weapons ban. The part that pisses me off is not knowing the rules. The government is very grey on legalities. Different cops tell me different things. Ths pistol permit beureau can not tell me the law. Now you can have a AR-15 but you must have a compliant weapon. You must have no bayonette lug, flash suppessor of collapsable stock. If you have a weapon with one, you must be able to prove it was made before 1994. magazines can not exceed 10 rounds. If you have a high cap mag, you must again prove it was made prior to 1994.
The state also wants to ban 50 cal firearms which include muzzle loading hunting guns. Some counties have the right to limit your pistol permit, but no one knows who.
The NY state legislature is brutal about banning. Each year they try, the NRA files suit, then the ban goes away. It has been like this ever since I have been shooting. Gun registration is also pretty bad. I have a card with my handguns listed on them. Also, to get a pistol permit (just to own one), IT TOOK ME ABOUT TWO YEARS TO GET THE CALL BACK.
Now hunting is under attack here too. The legislature is dominated by NYC politicians who basically hate upstate. They cater to groups like PETA and Brady campaign.
To boot- NY is not prosecuting gun charges! The firearm charge is 5 years. So if you rape someone and use a handgun (unregistered) they drop the gun crime to get the rape conviction. Getting caught with a illegal handgun is rarely prosecuted.
So in summary, the state makes me jump through hoops, limit my gun rights and does not prosecute handgun laws. But if you are a legal gun owner, you are held to a higher standard are prosecuted more often than criminals.
