He eluded the law and broke out of prison several times. was said to be killed while visiting his pregnat girlfreind. but ive seen his grave on tv it said he died in 1959 or somewhere around there. also has a lot of kills to his name that is what make legends in the west some one who rains lead on people that piss em off.

in my book guys like jim bridger, jim bowie, and a lot of the original mountain men were the shizzle but back then people didnt count the kills on NATIVE AMERICANS they dont want to talk about this era because it aint PC but this is a helluva piece of AMERICAN history too sorry not tryin to knock natives but in this PC world nobody wants to hurt no feelins

We know that many gunfighters out smarted their enemy. I dont think I would count outright slaughter. Many gunfighters were shot but not killed either. Modern day era gunfighters are not counted. During the 60's and 70's here in West Dallas it was considered the wild west. I know one man who shot at least 15 men. Not to say they all died though. But back in the 70's murder only got 5yrs. You could get out in 3 for good behavior. Today murder gets you life in Texas.
