Win XP Question
My laptop started acting weird a month ago - it won't shut down on the first attempt. At first I thought it might have something to do with all the progs I had running so I closed all of them on my task bar. That didn't help. I go through the routine, get the drop down that asks shutdown, restart, etc, I click shutdown, the drop down goes away, and nothing else happens. The second shutdown routine always works. Any ideas? Thanks guys, It's too late for me, save yourself. |

When you are shutting down, feel for the vibration of you hard drive. Is it running? You might have a data miner virus. They are searching thru your hard drive. I had one this week and I just reset my computer to an earlier date. I have Windows XP.

I guess I got lucky. Sam scared me with the possibility of a virus. Looks like I had a resistry problem & bought a repair program from RegCure. I'm back in business. These computers scare me sometimes!
