Reason why people get jacked around for making things go Boom.

Barron - A western Wisconsin man has been accused of filling balloons with gas and injuring a woman who was burned when they exploded.

Chad Schullo, 26, of Cumberland was charged in Barron County with injury by negligent handling of explosives, as well as two other counts. A criminal complaint says Schullo told investigators he filled the balloons with acetylene gas and planned to light them in front of his roommate's window to celebrate the roommate's 21st birthday Tuesday. Schullo gave the balloons to 18-year-old Amanda Sarauer to hold, and they exploded. The Bloomer teen suffered burns to the head, neck and chest, as well as severe hearing damage.

With my nearly 8 years of welding expirence I can say first hand that Acetylene is VERY VERY unstable gas. Playing with it can get you burned as proven above and or killed as well as cause MAJOR property DAMAGE!!!! I have been using Cutting torches as long as I can remember to braze as well as cutting metal and the one thing you do not do is fool around with the very explosive gas. My old welding teacher told us a story that a bunch of students took a black garbage bag filling it full of acetylene gas and took a grinder to a piece of metal to throw sparks at the bag and well the bag exploded throwing molten plastic on one student causing severe burns.

People playing with explosive gas are just plain out stupid now other word can describe it. Stupid! There family gene pool must be shallower than a dried up mud puddle!

stupid here....

When I was younger and even more foolish we appropriated a shopping cart and filled it with the aformentioned bags of gas...drug it down the street 'til it tipped over and the spark blew it up....great fun until the local constabulary arrives, having been told we were dragging someone behind our truck and then set them on fire.

One those "oh MANNNNN woooohoooo.....awww dammit" moments.
