I'm looking to buy a new 9mm and right now I have it narowed down to the xdm-9 or the px4 storm. Right now I'm having a hard time making a choice, I like the capacity of the xd-9 but from what I have read the px-4 is a softer shooter which would be better for ny 18 yr old daughter to shoot once in a while. Anyone have any experience with either one of these guns? A lil input from you guys may make my decision easier.

Not sure what round to go with. The 40 is only 2to3 dollars more for a box of 100 at bass pro. Not sure the round capacity over 16 rounds is all that important.

I would go with .40S&W. 9mm is still a good round, but I like .40 better

I recommend the 40. Learn to control it, and it will serve you well in any other application. Magazine capacity is not a critical issue, Quality of workmanship is, get the xdm.

It sucks to face the action end of a barrel and be out of bullets.

If your wanting to introduce your daughter to shooting and looking to save some money, heres my opinion for whatever it's worth.

I would go with the 9mm., it has less recoil. I would also go with the XDm because the XD series has had nothing but good reviews that I have seen. The mag. capacity debate between the .40 and 9mm can be solved in similiar fashion to the argument between the rounds themselves. If the shots are placed well you won't have to worry about size and amount. An off mark shot with anything is less effective.

I have the XDM 9 and love it.
Very accurate, easy to shoot, quick to take down and clean.
Springfield is a great company.

I know this is an old post but maybe he will get back to us and tell us what he bought.. and how he likes it.
