In 2002, when the Israelis had Yassir Arafat surrounded in his compound, the Bush administration did everything short of threatening to cut off foreign aid and using military intervention to get the Israelis to back off. The Bush crew considered Arafat to be a "statesman" rather than what he truly was, Anti-west terrorist number one. The Israelis should have told Bush to fuck off and turned Arafat into a speed bump for one of their tanks. And let's not forget that neither of the Bush presidents have been much of a friend to the second amendment. Obama is much worse, and I would rather have Bush than him, but not in this way. As soon as we allow the democratic process to be circumvented, we as an experiment in self-government have failed. As long as nobody tries to get us acive troops involved in the aftermath, I guess I'll just load up a few more mags for my personal rifles and wait to see how it all plays out.
