if you want to try to shoot your glock under water, make sure you have the maritime cups on it.

I'm happy you found a handgun you like.

As for me I think all Glocks are a bit overrated and overpriced. My next purchase will most likely be a rifle of some sort.

boom

I was looking at glocks till one blew up in a deputies hand at the firing range. Dang near lost it. Come to find out lots of others have had the same thing happen (LEO'S) and contacted the Sheriff. I'll stick with my Rugers and S&W's.

ugly, yes. over priced maybe, as most all guns are.... but not over rated in my opinion.

What kind of rifle are you looking at?

Probably...

I'm looking at the Ruger SR-22, S&W M&P15-22 or maybe a .22 pistol. I like to plink with a .22 and it's been awhile since I have owned one.

I'm also

looking at a Glock 23 right now. Seems like the perfect match between size and power for concealed weapons carry.

and lots of good ones out there...but if ya can find them at a good price the P-22 Walther is a winner.. Our local dealer (J&G in Prescott) is a national firm and they have some reallly great prices some times.. Did on the P-22 and as i didn't have an auto in the house at the time i jumped all over it... Great buy, great gun.. couldnt, be happier.. Little bit finakey on what it likes, (jacketed) but feed it anything but lead, and boy howdy is it a winner... dead solid great piece.. super acurate.. i really feel its the perfect 22 auto..

Well

I'm not a fan of the P-22. The take down release is cheap plastic and I've heard over time it will fail.

Is there a price difference between lead .22LR and jacketed .22LR ammo?

This was one of those deals where the price was so great i got one for me, and one for the wife.. she has a couple of 38's ive bought her over the years...one det spl colt and a T85 then after we retired she wanted a little "carry piece" cause we live way WAY out in the sticks, so i got her a pocket .32 colt.. Not a good round and the 22 is probabley a better defence round, but she likes it and its a cool old gun, going on a hundred years old...refinished so the price was great for me, and wife didnt care she liked the "new look"...anyway got one each of the walters.. No issues in ANY way on quality, and ive owned a LOT of pieces obver the years.. The only thing im not crazzy about is the mag reliese where the trigger guard pulls down to drop the mag. Deal with the rounds is lots of 22 autos dont like lead bullets.. the walter is one of may that dont..Loves anything coated...think its the best sights on any small frame..and just love the pistol...

a lot of .22 pistols and rilfes are picky about ammo, especially lead. Even 10/22's. I usually stick with remington jacketed rounds.

yea im sendin in for my CWP so i need a pistol i can conceal pretty easily. 1911's are way to big, plus .45 is too expensive now days, .40 is too but i think its the best cartridge. good and powerfull but easy to handle. the next gun I get will either be some sort of AR or my love the 30-30 lever action. mmmmmmhmmmmmm. such a beautiful gun. Plus ive gotten pretty used to the G22 from the academy I figure I will stick with the glock 40 and get the 23

im sorry u think glocks are ugly, but you have to understand that im trying to stop the perp not charm him with my gun.

overpriced? i dont even need to make a statement about that unless you are into hi points.

btw the cheapest pistol i bought was a glock 19 for $250 and my current ccw right now is a glock 23 that i bought for 400 bucks.

Clarify my post

I'm not into Hi-Points. I own a Smith & Wesson Sigma. Looks just like a Glock but the grip feels better to me.

What I meant by ugly is just the grip.

What I mean by overpriced is that around here a Glock is at least $200 more than a similar firearm such as a Springfield XD or Beretta.

Lt. Chris, training officer carries two: One in a conventional holster, one at the small of his back, and then a J-frame as a pocket pistol. Plus he's big and a wrestler. You don't wanna mess with him! He told me he got the Glocks for soemthing like $89 apiece!

And only those girly pukes who, I don't know, want reliability, accuracy, and durability bother getting them. Real men demand their guns malfunction and break quickly and require gunsmith services to get anything approaching real reliability. Only losers like Glocks. Huh.

greg New Mexico trip

My wife and I went 2 years ago up to Eagles Nest the week
of our anniversary May 25th and we had fine weather.
Never know from year to year.
I also want to be sure everyone knows this is just a trip to
check things out for a 2011 meeting and anyone who can
come is invited.
Sure would be nice to make it an annual event. That part
of the country is loaded with things to see also

most issued sidearm in the law enforcement community, and gets fired more than any other gun, catastrophic failures of Glocks should be higher than any other, but I'm betting that's not the case.

thinks he's not a real man. That should be fun. Lt. Chris is about greasy's size, over six feet, and pure muscle. I'm glad he's on my side, and runs, too, for that matter.

is the size of greasy (as in build) AND over 6 feet. In other words, he's a big greasypaws type of character, who has been a wrestler, and carries two Glocks.
