Hellow fellow gunsloters!! I hope you are all doing well. Been a while since I checked in. I have a question. I ordered some Federal large pistal primers a few months ago. The first box I opened was uneventul, but I just opened up a 1000 round box and there is yellow dust everywhere. Its in the creases of the box and when I remove the individual primer 100 round small boxes it's in all of those. Is that primer dust? Is this something I should be worried about or can I just dust everything off and start reloading? Hopefully somebody can feel me in. Thanks, Brad.

Primers

I would contact Federal directly, if it was me I would not use them.

Yellow dust

Doesn't seem to be a big deal, cheaper than dirt has reviews of ammo where they talk about having yellow dust on the ammo.

I think you'd be fine but you might want to hire a young Vietnamese woman to load your magazines, naked, with an OSHA approved dust mask over her mouth, you know, just in case.

I did find on a google search that " yellow dust on federal ammo" resulted a hit to a firing line.com thread where they discussed the yellow powder as primer dust. You might want to check that out.

Thanks for the input. I will check the thread out on firing line.com. Thanks for the additional advise on the naked Vietnamese lady. LOL.
