your padre pard is back in Peeples Valley
To save a little time for those of you working tramps that are keeping Gloria and my social security checks coming in.. This won't be much except a rambling update, so feel free to jump out now, and go do something interesting.. Actually if you guys remember the last time i gave you all an update on Gary's condition, i said that would be it till he got home.. Yeah well the checks in the mail, and that other famous example of "wrong speak".. This one is from the heart tho.. Last night i logged on after we got back home, and there was Hamps thoughtful post asking if any of you had heard from me, and of course all the really heart moving (we joke around, but they were) comments.. SO..... I want to start by saying that i know all of you are dealing with family issues and/or trauma, i feel a little guilty that this has become a big deal.. We, and im sure all of you, have other members of the family dealing with major issues..I think the thing with Gary is that it's seldom that you get a chance to come back from that condition.. They had told my sis-n-law (this was after we had left to return home a week ago) that he would NOT make it off the table.. I'll spare you guys the details, but there were three major issues all major and all failing.. I can tell you that he's quite the subject of conversation in the ICU.. I guess standard protocol is that staff is not encouraged to get personally involved at that levil of care (obviously deferring to you medical pros, but you can sure see why thats SOP) I can also tell you that he gets visits from most of the nurses that were involved following the procedure, and you can really pick up that thier all pretty amazed at how hes doing.. So what can i say except thanks guys.. Thanks to my pard Vaq for calling yesterday, and to everyone of you guys for the prayers and support.. No more serious shit.. time to get back to fun stuff.. See ya all later.. a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture. |

Grateful that Gary's still hanging in there. Like Brad said, it's in God's hands now, but it also depends a lot on Gary's will to live, from what I've observed in the past.
I'll certainly keep praying for him.

and like Bob has eluded too, it doesn't sound like Gary is ready to go anywhere quite yet!
