This is a link to a video of a Georgia LEO's dash cam as he gets into a firefight with a disgruntled Vietnam veteran. " just a warning this is a sad video and more graphic than some."

The story i gathered is that earlier that week we was reprimanded for using excessive force when dealing with an arrestee, which i think caused his hesitation (if you want to call it that) in doing what was necessary to save his life. In this case there wasn't going to be a winner anyway and i respect him for trying to wait until the very last second to take a civilians life but there is a line and that veteran crossed it. If it were me he wouldn't of even had a chance to shoot let alone get it out of his truck. I just want your opinions not exactly on what he should of done differently but how you feel about ROE of Police and Modern Military. Its a hard subject for me to come to a conclusion on, because if you loosen the rules and regulations on this, the few crazy trigger happy fools will abuse it at will.

Dunno, but down here in the Tampa Bay area, if you do not comply with a Officers direct order, you will be drawn on and expected to comply instantly. The threat to the Officer out ways the liability at "that" moment.

We had a Cop pull over a car full of young people one night. He requested the driver to get out and everyone else to put their hands in view. One refused to comply in the back seat, he bent down and was digging around under the front seat.

The officer grabbed the driver and spun him around, approaching the car using the driver as a shield with weapon drawn. He discovered the guy in the back was doing nothing more than hiding weed and some beers. Many people screamed for his badge over the next few weeks but in the end FDLE and his department found he acted correctly for the given situation and it's unknowns.

Mt personal opinion is that the Officer in the video slipped up by not keeping in mind that his safety and dinner where his ultimate goal that day.

No sir, he fell into that bullet... Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!

I am the first guy that hates a trigger happy LEO, but this young cop should have drawn down on this dumb asshole and dropped him before he made it back to his truck. The moment when he approached that officer agressively he should have drawn his sidearm,or at the very least his taser and spark that sombitch up. I pray for this officer and his family and I really would like to find out the out come of this event.
