marvin Posted: May 30, 2007 The Beretta Model 1918 first entered service in 1918 as a submachine gun with the Italian armed forces.
The Model 1918 was the second submachine gun to enter full time service in World War I, just after the Villar Perosa and before the German MP18 into service by a couple months.
Design
Rifling of the barrel: 6 grooves with a right hand twist (6-right)
Automatic carbine, caliber 9mm, having a barrel length of approx. 12.5" and a magazine capacity of 25 rounds.
