marvin Posted: April 28, 2007 The Colt Single Action Army handgun, also known as the Single Action Army or Colt Peacemaker, holds 6 rounds of ammunition and is a single action revolver.
The single action was designed and manufactured in 1873 for the United States cavalry by Colt's Manufacturing Company. The Colt Single Action Army Handgun is frequently considered the most famous pistol of the wild west.
The revolver is often referred to as the 'Colt .45', and should never be confused with the M1911 semi-automatic Colt pistol, which is gemerally referred to as the '.45 auto'.

I purchased a Uberti Single action Army in .45 colt with 4 3/4" barrel,..just for fun. An impulse buy, really.
I own a Ruger Redhawk and a Blackhawk, a Springfield 1911, and various long guns, yet this Italian made replica of the famous Peacemaker is the one that goes to the range with me the most. It's just plain fun to shoot.
I reload for it, so I get to experiment with all kinds of loads and bullets, from store bought to homecast.
A piece of history ( replicated) that is a joy to hold and shoot.
