Ok we just purchased this gun and guess what..took it out to the farm, loaded it and was ready for the thrill of a life time. IT WON"T FIRE!!!! and suggestions besides taking it back to the dealer where we bought it??? I really really wanted to experience this was really let down.

As far as not firing... it maybe a firing pin issue. I would take it back!

We had this think loaded and ready to fire. Pulled the trigger and the hammer wouldn't even go forward. It acted as if we didn't release the safety but double checked it and yep we had it released....

The dealer, in the paperwork said to send it back to manufactured so we are shipping it back. Paid over 1300 for this thing. Expected better thats for sure. Thanks for your imput. It helps having experienced people to discuss topics with.

I would take it back.
You might ask greasypaws, I heard he had one. I think he sold it to snake though...Maybe it is snake you should be asking.

I could be wrong but here in Ireland sometimes bits of weapons are cobbled together and sold as new by certain crime groups or sold to legit traders who then sell the weapons. I know this is a silly question but when you got it ready to fire had you before that taken it apart cleaned it and checked that no parts were rubbing?
I hope you weren't insulted by such a simple question.

I'm looking to purchase a good, un-used desert eagle, what would be the price range? And I'm not sure if they are illegal in Virginia, are they?
dystubenrauch
you can get a gold plated one of $2000-$3000.
MANI

first clear the weapon, unload the mag and re install it, try to dry fire it once. if this works, reload and try again. If it still doen not fire, return it to place where you purchased it or to a reputable gunsmith for adjustment.
I have carried a .50ae for a few years and spent many enjoyable hours at the range with it. The weapon functions as designed and is acurate with practice to 100 yds. It is not a cheep weapon to fire and does attract attention after the first three rounds, but when doesn't a cannon?
It is not for concealed carry, however when it is carried in a tactical rig it functions well.

I doubt that crispy_critter will get your words of wisdom however, he hasn't been on in a year and twenty four weeks...lol

Does anyone know if they make a extended magazine for the 50 cal. Desert Eagle?
Ishootdaily
no, no one makes one, there are some factory extended .44 magnum magazines out there but they are expensive if you find one.
You could take two of the factory .50 magazines, trim the base off one, cut one in half and weld it together at the bottom of the one with the trimmed base, take the springs, trim one and weld the full one and trimmed one together and use one of the followers and base plates.
You would probably have to tune the spring to ensure no feeding issues inside the mag...
But when your done, you will have the ability to make and sell a magazine that everyone else has ignored.
