The new Renaissance series from Franchi is a blend of traditional design and high-tech innovation that re-defines the over & under shotgun. With the Field, Classic and Elite models available, the Renaissance series offers an over & under shotgun to fit the taste and budget of every sportsman. The receiver of each model is precision machined out of a solid billet of lightweight alloy, which is then steel reinforced at critical areas such as the face of the breech. Extra material is removed wherever possible and the end product is an over & under 12-gauge shotgun that weighs an incredibly light 6.2 pounds. Until now, a 12-gauge over & under of only 6.2 pounds was unheard of because there were no alloys strong enough to make such a gun. Even if the necessary alloys did exist, the recoil from such a light gun would be too punishing. However, Franchi engineers developed an innovative “Twin Shock-Absorber™” recoil pad with a special gel insert that soaks up over 40% of the felt recoil. All three Renaissance models have walnut stocks with classic Prince of Wales pistol grips, cut checkering and traditional oil finishes. They are available in 12-, 20- and 28-gauge, with the choice of a 28” or 26” barrel on the 12- and 20- gauge models, and 26” on the 28-gauge.
