GlockMan Posted: May 31, 2007 The Glock 24 is a pistol designed and manufactured by the Austrian company, Glock. The G24 is essentially a Glock 17L modified to fire the .40 S&W ammunition. The pistol uses a modified frame, slide, .40 S&W barrel and magazine but is in nearly every other way identical in appearance to the Glock 17L including the 15-round magazine capacity.
The Glock 24 has undergone three major revisions or variations since its introduction and current models are generally called 3rd generation Glock 24s.
The main difference between the Glock 24 and the compensated Glock 24C is that the slide and barrel are ported on the G24C model and designed to reduce muzzle climb while shooting the pistol.
While production of the G24 was officially terminated upon the release of the G34 and G35, special orders for complete pistols and parts and can be made.
