marvin Posted: May 13, 2007 The Glock 27 is a pistol manufactured by the Austrian company Glock. The G27 is a Glock 26 modified to fire the .40 S&W ammunition.
It uses a modified frame, slide, magazine, and .40 S&W barrel but is otherwise near precisely identical in looks and feel to the Glock 26. The G27 has a nine round magazine capacity.
The factory magazine for the Glock 27 has a 9 round capacity. However, the Glock 27 can use Glock 22 and Glock 23 magazines. These magazines have a capicity of approximately 13 or 15 rounds. Aftermarket magazines of 29 rounds are available for purchase.
Numerous Glock 27 users find the smaller grip of the weapon very uncomfortable without an aftermarket grip extension that conveniently attaches to the magazine, because there is no support for the pinky finger. These additional grip extensions can also be used to add 1 or 2 extra rounds of firing capacity. Others argue conversely that these modifications make the Glock 27 much more difficult to conceal.
