marvin Posted: April 18, 2007 The Glock Firearms Company of Austria produces and manufacturers the Glock 34. The Glock 34 is a 9 mm pistol with unique specifications.
The G34, as it is commonly called, is a competition combat shooting pistol with a general standard magazine capacity of 17 rounds of ammunition. It is very similar in quality and design to both the Glock 17 and its variant the Glock 17L. The magazine and receiver are interchangeable with both of the Glock 17. The barrel and slide are longer than those of the Glock 17.
The Glock 34 has quickly and efficiently become extremely popular in IPSC shooting competitions because of its adjustable sights, simple controls, moderate price and high durability along with good accuracy. It is additionally also extremely popular in IDPA competitions. It is popular in these competitions due to its longer barrel which improves accuracy while (barely) meeting specific size limitations, while the less powerful, lighter 9mm cartridge makes for faster split times between shots as well as faster reacquisition of a target.
