HK P2000

The HK P2000 or Heckler & Koch (H&K) P2000 and P2000SK are pistols based upon the popular H&K USP (Universal Self Loading Pistol). The weapon has an ambidextrous magazine release and slide locks.

Background

The pistol is a polymer based firearm that is capable of firing +P rounds throughout the life of the pistol. The pistol comes available chambered in either .357 SIG cartridge, .40 caliber S&W, or 9 mm Luger. The P2000SK model pistol is a much smaller, "sub compact" variatn of the P2000. The P200SK comes available in all the same calibers.

The P2000 / P2000SK pistols utilize Short Recoil Linkless Modified Browning type actions. This type of action is used often in H&K USP type pistols. Differing from the H&K USP series, these pistols do not have an external safety. There are multiple variants that are available utilizing trigger weights and if a Law Enforcement Modification or LEM trigger mechanism is utilized as opposed to a SA/DA trigger.

* V1 - LEM (DAO) trigger with a 4.5-5 lb pull.
* V2 - LEM (DAO) trigger with a 7.5-8.5 lb pull.
* V3 - SA/DA trigger with a decocking lever mounted at the posterior of the slide to the left of the spurred hammer. SA trigger pull 4.5 lb, DA trigger pull 7.5 lb

The backstrap of the pistol is interchangeable to permit the user to arrange the pistol's overall grip size. There is also a universal accessory rail on the dust cover of that pistol that permits the utilization of tactical lasers and lights as well as many other accessories. Attachment to the pistol does not require any additional tools and is therefore positive. In contrast to the USP pistols, that use a proprietary H&K mounting rail. The rail limits the type of accessories that can be equipped on the the handgun.
