marvin Posted: April 18, 2007 Manufactured by the Savage Arms company, the Savage 10FP is a bolt action rifle. There are seven different and unique variants of this rifle.
Each variant is designated with the letters "LE" code which signals that it is part of the Law Enforcement Series. The Savage 10FP rifle is marketed and designed as a tactical weapon. The 10FP's are configured with Matte Blued Barreled Action, AccuTrigger, Oversized Bolt Handle, Heavy Free-Floating and Button Rifled Barrel, Third Swivel Stud for bipod mount and an Internal Box Magazine (holding 4 rounds).
The Savage 10FP is very similar to the Savage 110FP rifles however has some key differences. The differences between the two weapons occur only in the calibers used and in the action lengths. The 110FP is considered a "Long Action" whereas 10FP is designated a "Short Action". Both are rotating bolt rifles, bolt action, non-detachable magazines and with dual lug bolts and integral. Current Savage 10FP rifles are stocked into conventionally shaped polymer stocks with a third sling stud making it suitable for bipod mounting. Heavy barrels are free floating therefore the barrel only touches to stock towards the receiver end. At this point, this is where the stock and barrel are bolted together. The Savage 10FP "A" models carry the valued Choate "Ultimate Sniper" stocks. The "B" models carry the McMallin fiberglass stocks.

Savage does produce the most accurate American made rifles, period.
I have a 111 in .300 Win Mag. The first 5 shots went into .463".
Try that from a Rem, and a ruger is not even in the running.
This rifle has a pencile thin BBL. and is only 6 3/4 pounds w/o the accu-trigger.
I got this rifle as a platform to make a switch BBL. rifle as I do not need a .300, but now I may just leave it stock and pick up another to build up my .264 Win Mag + 6.5mm STW.
The problem is no matter what Savage I pick up it will want to shoot about as good.
