The Steyr Elite is a variant of the Steyr Scout and was previously referred to as the Steyr Scout Tactical. The weapon is a much more powerfully constructed model retaining many key features of the Scout. This weapon's primary design is for the law enforcement market as an overall urban tactical sniper rifle.

Differences Between Steyr Scout and Elite

The key differences between the standard Scout and the Elite include an extended STANAG mounting rail, an adjustable cheek piece and an enlarged bolt knob of the SSG type. The weapon is also equipped with a heavy 570mm (22.4in) barrel. The sniper rifle can produce very high muzzle velocities becuase of it's fast internal profile. The Elite is comes standard with a synthetic 5 round magazine, however with the purchase of an external adaptor kit, the Elite can be fitted with a 10 round magazine. The Elite comes available in two calibers: .223 Remington and .308 Winchester.

looking to get my hands on a steyr

Syeyr scout .243
Looking to buy one of these. I have a Ruger M77mk2 .270 and for the deer we hunt it is over kill.
Any suggestions as to where to go to get a Steyr Scout .243 cal?
