The Walther P99 is a fairly new, semi-automatic pistol made by Walther Sportwaffen of Germany.

Initiated in 1994, the design of the P99 was presented in 1996. The primary goal of production was to develop a modern style, new self defense an dpolice handgun that brought together all fo the latest developments in pistol technology and would be far less costly than its predecessor, the Walther P88. Due to its high prices, the Walther P88 did not achieve much commercial success.

The pistol is used by the Finnish Army's military police and special forces. It often goes under the designation Pistooli 2003 (PIST 2003).
