The Model 1897 was an renovation of the Winchester Model 1893 designed by John Browning. The shotgun was the first truly successful pump-action shotgun manufactured and produced. Over a million of these Winchester Model 1897 models were produced in various barrel lengths and grades from 1893 until it was discontinued by Winchester in 1957.
