marvin Posted: April 28, 2007 The M2 was nicknamed by United States Troops as Ma Deuce or simply referred to as "fifty-cal" in regards to its caliber. The design and origination has had many specific and unique designations; for the current infantry type, the official designation is Browning Machine Gun, M2, Cal. .50, HB, Flexible.
The Browning .50 machine gun has been used quite extensively for aircract armament and as an on board vehicle weapon by the US from the 1920s to the present day. The M2 was frequently used during the Korean War, World War II, and the Vietnam War, as well as during numerous operations in Iraq in and around the 1990s and 2000s. The M2 is the primary heavy machine weapon of NATO countries, and the M2 has been used by numerous other countries. The M2 is still in frequent use today. The machine gun was very similar in design and development to the smaller Browning Model 1919 machine gun, frequently called the .30-06 Springfield.

and why would you need to have someone set the weapon up for you????
i was around the system for about 10 mins before i was setting it up on convoys and helping others with troubleshooting...

ma duce my favorite weapon...and setting it up rele isnt that hard, as long as you have the right tools. I'm in a transportation company, and out of all the weapons we've shot, and used this is MY favorite.

Yes, the M2 is alot of fun to shoot. I just wish when I was shooting it in the Corp they would have let us shoot more than a 100 rounds thru it. I could have shot 5,000 rounds would have been great.
