I purchased my first glock last week--glock 30. My father and I were checking zero on our hunting rifles. He wanted to see my "2x4" gun (refering to the way that it looks like a framing stud). We loaded it with our reloads, lead semi wad cutters. I pulled the trigger and it fired nicely; however, the spent casing was not expelled. I had heard that glock had problems with lead bullets. I said ok, lets try the copper encapsulated semi wad cutters. I fired again with the same result: a "phase three" jam. I did not know what it was called until I started doing some research. I brought up my 1911 circa 1913 US Army. I wanted to see if maybe the reloads were short on powder. The 1911 functioned perfectly with both types of bullets. My father pulled out his Kimber and fired both the lead and the copper encapsulated rounds with no problems. Can anyone here help me with my dilemna? I am going to the range tonight to shoot ball ammo to see if they will cycle. Furthermore, I have had an HKUSP 45 for 10 years and it has cycled everything I have loaded.
thank you for your time

I have a Glock 26 and I might buy a 30 soon. I'd rather get a Kimber 1911 but they are way expensive. We'll see. I need a .45 to carry. Glock 30 would probably work well. That Kimber is so pretty though.
