I am tryong to identify this weapon. Any help would be appreciated.
what caliber is it ? Are there any proof marks on it. How is the barrel marked. How is the frame marked. Do you believe those grips are original ?
Its ugly, I know that much.
what markings the gun has including what's on the grips. A simple what is this can expect a shrug in return.
This is french automatic pistol in 7,65 mm (.32 ACP).
The UNION pistols were developed by a gunsmith from Marseilles, Mr. Marcel Seytres. His workshop was located at 17 Rue Denis Papin in St. Etienne.
The first UNION pistols appeared around 1925 and production ceased a bit before WW2.
These pistols have numerous common points with the 1906 Browning. This type of weapon was very popular between the two World Wars and numerous French, Belgian and Spanish manufacturers were inspired by it.
Some UNION pistols were fitted with a selective fire mechanism for semi- or full automatic fire. This system was invented by Mr. Detrat, manager of manufacturing at the Seytres Company on March 1st, 1937. The selector is located on the right side of the slide and moves vertically. In the upper position, the pistol functions in semi-automatic mode. When the selector is lowered, a cam controls the release of the sear therefore allowing the internal hammer to fall.
good one Edgar.. Curious is Croatia on "euros" or not.. Not sure if your Nation is part of the EU, and not sure if thats a requirement to be on that monetary unit.. assume it is but not sure..
Know the 32 acp is popular, what sort of dollars (euros) would be a normal price for this pistol
Croatia will be full member of EU at 1. june 2013.
Now we use our curency, KUNA, but accepted euro.
I don"t know price, even aproximately, but i will check and post here.
going over to the EU is a scary thing I would think.
With the standard tottering on crashing I would hold off on that one. There are what? Three nations which are bordering financial collapse which could bring the value of the Euro to nothing?
This really is odd, as i have no esp or perception stuff going on.. G says my "antenna" is to low.. Anyway you can see my question to Nobile yesterday.. this morning on the news they announced that the way was being paved to join the EU next year.. Maybe some subliminal thing happened yesterday.. like it running on a scroll i didn't notice consciously..or maybe just one an odd coincidence.
ISD has a point, the dow fell big time two days ago based on the EU unrest, and the probable bailout of more nations than Greece..
Nobile.. don't worry bout price check, not so much interested in that piece, as curious about the price structure on weapons in Croatia, and other European Nations.. For example we know that gasoline is much more expensive in Europe.. Are weapons more as well.. lets take the average Smith k frame or a generic 1911.. cost here would be in the range of 400/600.. (just throwing out ball park averages obviously some lot more or less) what sort of "average" price would you be talking about in Europe..
Price of S&W 1911 at Croatia - 1.800,00$
Springfield XDM 9mm - 1.000,00$
I"am not optimistic with join EU, but that"s it.
if the Eruo fails, we're screwed.....
They all thought that this Global Economic Plan of theirs was going to be the way to go and in the end it is going to be one of the key causes of the next real Global Conflict me thinks...
Don't think your going to find any argument about that ISD.. Thing is that while the euro drops the dollar is artificially propped up.. When we started "monetizing" ie printing buck that weren't backed by gold (believe were in year two of that) we sealed the fate of the US Dollar.. In the history of the world no currency that wasn't backed by gold has failed.. The process has been duplicated a number of times as it's easy to just print money, the end result is runaway inflation.. To think our dollar would fare differently is absurd..
The counter point to that is the devaluation of the euro.. I'm sure that the "Bernanke's" ("beard boy") of the world wlll say that they foresaw the fall of the euro, and could justify printing unbacked dollar based on it.. Maybe they did, thats the whole point of geopolitical think thanks, and bubba ben is a tad smarter than the geez.. I think we got lucky, and the current "ride" the dow is on is about as stable as the city of Mogadishu is safe..
that are heavily into Euro states are going to run to our treasury to save their hides with inflated dollars the ink hasn't dried on yet.
Do you think "our" govmnt will be able to resist lending billions to E.U. countries?
All's well until A-rabs say pay for oil with REAL money, not your worthless funny-money dollars.
It rolls along until China says pay up chump, you been riding on zip-value dollars long enough.
I hope the Euro takes a soft crash, countries bail out on it and re-establish their economies before it turns bad.
I hope something occurs that gets our politicians head's straight (Fat Chance) and we can get our monetary system on a firm footing again. We'll prolly have a total collapse of our system before politicians become functional.
I don't know what it's like being a politician with unlimited heaps of money to waste, has to be a real mind bender.
Only one country - ISLAND do the right thing: when Island bank"s was broke, government was try to help bankars with lot of money, but people say"s NO. Put the prime minister in jail and said that some new, strong bank" come and work. That broken bank"s was history.
And after few years on Island situations is OK.
We as a nation are on the brink of war, obongo cut the only ol line that was with out friends Canada to buy from our enemy. If obongo win 4 more years by cheating I'm sure this country will be at war. Prepare guys it's coming.
may be about to hit the fan.
