Subject: GSG 5PK part????

Hi-
Took my PK down for its third cleaning since I got it a couple of weeks ago. Has about 1100 rounds thru it now. I noticed a small part that was on the floor and can't see a spot where it goes (only difference this time was that I had taken off the hand guard for the first time for inspection. The gun went back together OK and seems to function - but I would like to know what this part is before firing the gun again. Pics attached - any help would be appreciated.
thx.
Cliff

Cliff,

That is one of three set screws in the gun, two are the same size and very small, they are for the front sight blade and to hold the firing pin retaining pin. The third one is larger and screws into the frame under the forend and secures the barrel.

Thx Ray - found it. I remember now that the barrel seemed loose when I took off the flash hider. Is this normal for the screws to come loose??? I've read on the net that the screws might work themself loose after 5K rounds or so on this gun...I haven't fired that many yet but pieces are already coming loose!??? I thought that German QC would be better. Any recommendations to prevent this?
thx.

Cliff,

Try using blue Loc-Tite on the screws

OK - I'll do that now before I forget.
One last question - speaking of Loc-tite - there is a guy on YouTube that is recommending replacing all the OEM screws - (especially on the bolt jacket and to loc-tite these) to prevent FTF/FTE's. Will this affect the guns warranty? If so, how often do I need to inspect/take down the bolt to check the OEM screws?
thx.
