I hear ya, On any of the plow share grip framed Rugers I am a wood fan myself, There made to roll up in your hand. But big daddy here came with those & so far, with the heavy stuff I been using, Super hot 305 Gr Buffalo & Cor Bons these rubber pieces are doing OK. But still a little much.
Have not decided on scope yet, looking at several right now. Any suggestions???

got to agree Larry...

Man im glad you got the posting pics figured out.. That is one fine Ruger buddy.. I've only had one black hawk.. a 71/2 in 30 carbine.. that is sweet.. Did you ever get into silhouette shooting.. Or for that matter anybody else here ever try to knock over rams..

i have a 4 5/8 barrel SBH,that does roll up nice,i have shot 300g corbons thru it,and spun the barrel! turned it into Ruger and they went thru it top to bottom for free, took about 3 months to get it back but i am a huge fan of Ruger for it.

I had a Dan Wesson in 44 mag, ported 7 1/2 barrel,i put a Bomar base and aimpoint red dot on it,that was my pin gun.I did have an issue with the trigger, but turned it in to DW and they did a trigger job,now my brother in law owns it,so i get to shoot it when i go to Oakland(drive bys,ha!)

I just got done rebuilding this piece, Guy I got it off of was a butcher, tried to do an action job on it with a hack saw & a bastard mill file. thing was so bad IF it held battery, all you had to do was give it a little tiny shake a off it went. Redid everything on the inside, Ruger single actions are real hard to beat but I think I bested them by a little, at least everything is mirror polished.

Larry, U did a hellofa

job on it then!! And I can understand the recoil on it!! I shot my "old mans" .45 Colt Peacemaker, and he and a cpl of his friends that hung around to see if they should record it. One was affraid I would drop it, another was affraid I wouldnt be able to hold it down during the recoil. I surprised them all!! I was quite proud of myself. I was scared to death, but it was Super Sweet!!! I cant wait to shoot it again!!

the dot sight, got great battery life, fast target acquisition,i did use loctite on every screw,as recoil did loosen them.

Everyones recoil sensitive.. just a fact, and ive never felt a lot of recoil with the 45 Colt.. and Larry good on ya calling it that as opposed to 45 long Colt. I'm not a fanatic on that but you know how others are.. By the same token the 10MM and the 44 mag do have enough recoil that they effect my groups..

was pretty popular at one time, now I'm out of the loop on holographic sights, but i'm sure aimpoint,Eotech,or such will work too.I believe it was the blue loctite i used(ACE).

Thanks LBC!!

Cause all I have is the "red". They only come in strengths of mild, med and hard in the red. Thats why I was asking. In one of my books, it brought up using locktite in Ur heavier recoil rifles, (benchrest mostly) and Ur higher cal. pistols!!

I am not recoil sensitive by any means, the 10s are sweet pieces but I just don't like them.
I'm the same with the 45 Colt, Not a lot there, shoot em all day. Would not pass one up in an emergency but would reach for my 357 or 45 Auto first.

I'll admit the girl in me right now, It was a Sweet ass piece,(the 10mm) but they both sorta "scared" me, (for a lack of a better word) the same. They both "kicked", but I guess the "shiney" of the 10 had me "creaming" from the get go!! Sorry 'bout that!! anyway......... Im probobly one of the few girls that u'll meet that a sweet ass gun, "gets me going"!!! I went weak in the knees when Brad txt me pics of his Noveske earlier!!! Now thats one I wanna get my hands on right there. Hope I wasnt too brass guys!!

Be careful with that Loctite, Some screws you might never get out again without heat.
Get some blue & some small screw.
