"I have always been a soldier. I have known no other life. The calling of arms, I have followed from boyhood. I have never sought another." From The Virtues of War, by Steven Pressfield.
Our boy Dave did this a year ago and 5 months ago.. No comments.. I see a problem here.. betting you do as well.. shall we let it slide or give Dave some shit about it..
a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.
it's just past midnight or so Monday night, and have the joint to myself.. I should let this play out as a trivia question.. one of those "whats wrong with the pic" deals.. But as its late, and i won't be on early tomorrow, will just skip to the chase.. also think its pretty obvious so will get on with it.. First a quick back ground on the commander, it came in two versions.. .
The Combat Commander, a 4 (and i think, not into wiki) 1/4 " bbl as opposed to the standard 1911's 5" bbl.. and the light weight Commander.. The light weight had an alloy frame, and kept the weight down by about 10 oz.. Standard for a 1911 is 39 oz.. and (back to the thinking, but not checking lol) deal the LW is around 29 oz...
In either event the schematic above is absolutly NOT a commander.. Your looking at a 5" good old fashioned (bless em) 1911.. No question on the bbl length, and ALL commanders had the roe or round hammer.. They were known for that more than anything.. As the frame size is the same the only way to tell is bbl length, and the hammer.. this puppy is a 5" 1911.. period..
