I grew up listening to his music, wearing his concert T's bought each time he came in concert to Tampa Bay.

But once I learned he was baiting Bears with Cakes of Chocolate by products, which the bears eat until they are Sugar Drunk. Then slaughtering them it made me start to wonder about him, then seeing him wound a pig and sit around drinking while it just slowly died with the dogs chewing on it, it pissed me off.

Sorry, I'm far from a lib as most will get but that guy is a piece of guano....

I haven't heard that, but if that's true then, yeah, I just lost a lot of respect for him.

He pretty much doesn't give a shit as long as he kills something...

Power to him, but not my type to look up to, or support in any way...

so you have

never been Bear hunting? setting up bait stations(55 gallon barrels with old donuts, fish guts, whatever) and checking them like trappers do a trap line daily is a long drawn out way of hunting Bear,it's a pain in the ass really ,lugging the bait in.Then you sit in a tree stand and wait, if you have seen a Bear messing around trying to eat out of you bait barrel, and then maybe you get a shot, mostly you don't.I have seen Bears rolling in a pile of fish guts and fish, with flys buzzing so damn thick smell me,they have the keenest smell better than a dog.
The other way to hunt Bear is with Burning Honey, hopefully they will get a whiff and follow the scent up to my gun barrel and i'll shoot their ass dead.It doesn't always work either.Bears are god damned hard to hunt and until you have tried it i wouldn't be to quick to have an opinion about it.And i agree Teds an asshole but i respect him.

I'm a fan of the nuge... but that's F'd up if its true. Any responsible person is obligated to take an animal as humanly as possible and use everything that can be used from it. Do you have any links for videos or anything else supporting your statement? I'll see if I can find anything through a quick search.

To the News interviews he did about 7 years back...

I will definitely post if found. He got really into the detail about how him and his friends sat back laughing and watching it passing a bottle around...

Asked my wife which show they had it on but she claims she can not remember and got all pissed off again about it...

Ted Nugent has been very vocal about having no alcohol, drugs, or tobacco in his life. I doubt he would talk about passing a bottle around unless he was talking about Vernor's Ginger Ale.

As for shooting a pig and letting it die slowly, fuck 'em. The bear thing, hell with it. He paid a fine from what I understand. Maybe he should get some community service or seizure of his hunting setup as part of it, but I can't say anything about hunting tactics that are not fair. He's done a whole lot more good than harm.

My problem here,

It seems that people have a big problem with baiting animals like bears and perhaps even hogs, but yet they will set up feeders to feed deer at prescribed times and then when hunting season comes around and the deer are there waiting for their daily supply of corn, they find a bullet instead. That is not my idea of a sporting chance.

Personally, while I do like venison, and if I should ever try it, might like bear meat, I don't agree with baiting them in any manner. If it should come down to it, I would be less likely to have a problem with baiting bears than I do deer. A bear is harder to kill, and can, to some degree at least, fight back. It is one of the reasons that I don't hunt very much. I won't go to one of the ranches that have the guided hunts for several reasons. I would be much more likely to go on a guided hunt for hogs than for deer and probably even bear.

My reason for this is that the hogs have, as of lately, particularly here in Texas and some other states, become a menace not only to domesticated animals and other wildlife, but to humans as well. Most of the bear attacks that I have heard of involved someone either in an environment where bears were prevalent, and they did something dumb like leave some kind of food stuff out and somewhere near their campsite. I have also heard of people outright feeding the bears when they were attacked. Deer have been so hunted for so long, that they have become more or less nocturnal when feeding particularly during the rut and that is why people set out the feeders.

This is just my opinion.

Oh yeah, forgot,

I think that I would support either one of these candidates or both if they were to run. I would prefer to see one of them on the ticket and perhaps Sarah Palin with them.

to many types of

hunting involve Bait to gain an advantage on prey,I personally don't hunt over bait for bear but i burn honey,in either case i don't want the bear to have a fightin chance,i want him dead before he knows what hit him. Here it is illegal to feed deer,it is illegal to put a salt lick out for deer, and it is legal to shoot loose dogs during deer hunting season.

Hell if they are caught running Deer anytime really....

Only time I've been Bear hunting was in Maine and it was a Black Bear that kept coming into a trailer park a few miles outside of Town that was full of kids. But even then they just put a bunch of guys out and chased in out onto the Power Line track and took it.

My Dad used to go every year for a while there. Bear and Mountain Lion when you could still hunt those too...

Saw one of those jump from inside the woods, out into the middle of the opposite lane and back into the woods when I was a kid. I kept telling my dad "Daddy catch the kitty!" he kept telling me to roll up the window.....

We had stopped because two Deer had run across the road up ahead, then that Cat came flying through...

Big Kitty..

never heard of the nuge getin busted up here in nor cal before nitris posted a link(to my own local paper)haha thanks again nitris.dont think it should be illegal to sit on a gut pile or carcas in the woods or somthing like that(still considered baiting in ca),but puting out trash and sugary treats for bears is teaching them to respond to human food and that is a bad idea.i have personaly had way too many close encounters with bears in the past few years, dont need them looking at me as a food source when we bump into eachother in the forest.
