Alaskas other Natural Resource

Alaskas other Natural Resource

Only in Alaska.......

This guy raised an abandoned moose calf with his
Horses, and believe it or not, he has trained it for lumber removal and
Other hauling tasks. Given the 2,000 pounds of robust muscle, and the
Splayed, grippy hooves, he claims it is the best work animal he has. He
Says the secret to keeping the moose around is a sweet salt lick,
Although during the rut he disappears for a couple of weeks, but always comes Home.... Impressive!!

Not so much on the ocean, where I was, but any time on land. They call them 'No-see-em's' because you don't have time to put up a flak screen before they get you. They actually mated with the bees so they have stingers at both ends. That way they get you coming and going.

that a small squadron buzzed our softball field and stole our ball! Then they flew over to the smokehouse and carried away with about 30 pounds of salmon.
