american spirit arms

a buddy of mine built a 9mm dedicated ar15 asa upper.he gave me the freefloat handguard.looks just like this but rifle length. ive been wanting one for my ar project,(just been using a standard black m4 that dosnt mach my fde magpul stock and grip)and he likes vltor guards so i got a freebee.just gota get a picitini rail installed, backup sights, low pro gas block, and get a scope n my project is done.anyone know this company?i found some rails that seem exactly like what i need from yhm for their freefloat tubes for aprox $35 for 12" seems like they will work with minor gunsmithing.

yhm low rails
low profile rails co witness with flattop receiver.
anyone know of a better price for a rail that may work,or a rail blank?

i know yhm well.was gona start saving to get a yhm,or a midwest freefloater.like i said i got this asa freefloater for free,so i figured id put a rail on it and give it a try.if i dont like it im only out the cost of the rail, and id give it to my brother when he starts his ar project,or use it on another build later.thanks for the link isd.

Free Float Rails

My favs are Larue and Daniel Defense. Troy, YHM, KAC, VLTOR, VTAC, MI etc... are all OK too, but I prefer the DD and Larue. They are more expensive than most, so it depends on cost. I agree that if you're on a budget, YHM is a good alternative. I have a MI on a draco pistol and it has worked out OK. Just attached a laser to it last night... which brings me to another point... Anybody use a NcStar laser? I just got one because I have credit at OPSGear and they didn't have too large of a laser selection. I think the one I got was around $60. It seems alright so far, just wondering how the quality is and if it will last or if its just a cheapo.

No, that thing is sitting in my closet at the time being.... I still just have a glock in the truck (and a sig on my person). I'm building another AR that I still need to buy a lower/parts and BCG for. That will probably end up riding in the truck until I replace it with a .308 of some sort. I might just throw one of my SKS's in there for the time being. I just don't want to leave anything too nice in there.

with a locking base from the Department...

I'll have to remove the console between the buckets, but what the hell I can even mount a pistol safe behind it.

nice

That would be pretty sweet, but I'd be worried about someone busting out the windows trying to get at it. If theres's a will, there's a way. I've been thinking about putting one of those Du-ha boxes under my back seat. Good milage for a 97, shit my 06 F150 is almost at 100K.

So the Suburban sat much of the time. Wife got me to sell the other two and now she wants me to ditch the 4x4 and get something compact we can give to our daughter for her first car. I refuse because I want a 1000R and she throws a fit every time I mention one. So, I'll keep the 4x4 and built it up for the Brush and mud and she can pee up a rope.

hehehe
