What a photo!

This is really impressive!

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).

I have fired 60 mm, 81mm, and 4.2" mortar rounds and it is a real blast.

America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. America is at the Mall. If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them!

if i remember correctly on the 60mm mortars,i'm not gonna bother looking it up,but i was a section leader for 3 tubes 33+ years ago, hmmm might have to look it up now that i think about it,maybe i should call a friend, nah, that's my final answer,10 meter kill ring for 100,000.

i have a feeling it's got to go about 10 meters or so before it arms,i am pretty much guessing tho, little fuzzy on the details,I know we used to crack base plates because we would add charges( there was a max of four increment charges, but we added a couple to extend the range, the higher ups were impressed until we cracked the base plates)

It's not that I'll ever be close to one of those but my 20 years in Ordnance, that is a question on the front of my mind :<)

Ohh!

That is a cool pic, I have never even been close to a mortar battery.
Seems like a cool job.
