but everything I've ever heard or read about them said they were very good quality. I've always wanted to shoot one.

Right, Lucky, back when it was Astra, Unceta y Cia. They made lots of good guns, for a long time. The Colt Junior .25 ACP was an Astra Cub. Star (Echevarria) also made really good guns.
