What an idiot...while, I know he has the right to do this, it's sad. I heard/read a statement once (in a book I think, maybe Laura Ingrham)...it goes like this:

JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DO SOMETHING, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOUD DO IT!

Whenever I see the flag in a position like this or ANY position it shouldn't be in...My heart actually sink a little bit more. I physically hurt to see an American fuck with the flag or disrespect it.

I agree 100%

My heart rate goes up to about 170 when I see anything done to the flag out of disrespect...you know, I just told my co-worker this:

In America, we are so caught up in such stupid crap...such as political correctness for almost EVERYTHING and ANYTHING, yet something that is so important to certain people (like the flag or being a christian) is OK to bash and abuse? Has our country really come to this?

Stop

It is not being ignored except by you. You keep posting slander and uncertified bits of misinformation with every post. This situation has been taken care of and proved that it was a just two people on the same committee working for the public good. Now, "What is this country coming to" you asked. Indeed, what is this country coming to when people like you are going around spreading poisoned political jelly all over the truth bagel. You are the ignorant one that has been asked to prove your statements by LLE and you have either ignored him or pulled some slight of hand gesture proving nothing. Thank God LLE is intelligent, sharp and doesn't have the taste for BULLSHIT and didn't fall for your crap. He knows and I know that your propaganda being flung around like "shit in a monkey cage" is disturbing and annoying. I would be happy if you just left the politics to the rich and corrupt and talked about guns.

It's funny to think

that syn and those who served prior gave this guy the right to do what he did (not bomb shit, but disrespect the flag). It's because we gave him this freedom, that he is allowed to do this. Don't get me wrong, it's a horrible act and like I said before, it really does affect me when I see it. But it's a great thing to debate isn't it? What a conundrum. Do you think it should be unlawful to do this to the flag? Well, there is a flag code, not sure if everyone has read it...but it is constantly violated. I will bet everyone on this website has violated the flag code. However, it's not US LAW...should it be???

Flag Etiquette
STANDARDS of RESPECT
The Flag Code, which formalizes and unifies the traditional ways in which we give respect to the flag, also contains specific instructions on how the flag is not to be used. They are:

The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.
The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard
The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.
The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object; it should be received by waiting hands and arms. To store the flag it should be folded neatly and ceremoniously.

The flag should be cleaned and mended when necessary.

When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.
