I hope this ends up biting him in the butt
political commentators, and analysts. He has IMO been straightforward in his commentaries, and for the most part been a FOXnews non-partisan even though admitting to be quite conservative, personally.
His latest take on the Patraeus case is surprisingly intriguing: In short, he believes Obama told General Dave, then the newly appointed CIA honcho, you will not testify anything that sheds a negative light on the administration's mishandling of the Benghazi debacle. If you do, I will have the "affair" story broken all over the news, and your brilliant career as one of the US Army's greatest strategic heroes will end in abject disgrace. And, once the election was won, the big O could not take the chance of invoking [suspicious] Presidential immunity to prevent Patraeus' testifying before every interested Senate and House investigating committee. So, the sword fell, and General Dave fell on it, as a good soldier should.
But even now, the resurrected POTUS finds himself, still, very vulnerable. First, Patraeus declared he "wanted to" testify, then he decided he would not testify--but when confronted with good advice that the Committees would pull out all of their many legal tools, starting with subpoena, and embarassing incarceration, Patraeus seems to have accepted the inevitable. So here we are waiting to hear HOW the POTUS and his tricky Attorney General, will try to squirm out of this potentially very damaging testimony by Patraeus, short of a Chicago-style bump-off job.
STAY TUNED, FOLKS>>>>>IT'S GOING TO BE A BUMPY RIDE.
If anyone happened to have heard the Wednesday morning version of FOX Q&A's for Senators Lindsay Graham, John McCain and Kelly Ayotte, they are big guns, talking like, the S-t has already hit the fan, and they ain't havin' any more of it. If McCain had sounded like that during the 2008 presidential campaign, HE would have won the election!!
I've been "loosely" following this, catching up on it as I can after work. I have always felt that there is something much deeper going on here with this Patraeus "sex scandal", as everyone likes to call it, than what's on the surface. From the beginning, I thought is was terribly "fishy" that this happened to break right before he was supposed to testify about the Benghazi debacle. I hope he goes in and lays it all out on the table.. He's already resigned, everybody already knows about the affair, so he has less to loose at this point. I think It's going to be interesting as more info unfolds.
by the relevant House and Senate committees, as well as the FBI and his own brethren in the CIA, and they find NO SECURITY VIOLATIONS OR LEAKS, then I would say---he is too much of a precious commodity for us to allow him to recede into non-productiveness and obscurity, as regards the defense of this country. Under those conditions, his penance should be to work diligently for his country, in any way that a POTUS and the Congress approves, and that should start with mandatory, full disclosure testimony regarding what he knows about the Benghazi debacle [notwithstanding this POTUS attempts to block such testimony].
I believe, despite his recent lapse in personal judgment, Gen. Patraeus has much more intelligence, wisdom, and ability he can contribute to the critical defense of this nation, and I believe he would be overjoyed to spend the rest of his life doing this penance, because he loves his country.
I know that some of you will believe the above proves I must have descended into full-blown senile psychosis. If so, consider this: We are already in WWIII, and Patraeus is a proven, critical resource. Take yourself back to WWII. At the most critical juncture, Ike Eisenhower, according to the usual knowledgable sources, was having an "affair" with his personal Chauffeur, Kay Summersby. Assuming Summersby was not a cleverly planted Axis spy, do you believe in your wildest of dreams, FDR/Churchill would have forced Ike's resignation?? Of course not--Ike was much too critical a talent, to be "replaced".
And so it is, I say to you, Patraeus is FAR too much of a scarce resource to be summarily dispensed with. There may be no such thing as an indispensible person, but compared to our current bench of General Officers==General Dave is very close, especially when considering asymetrical warfare. I will not be his apologist, but I say to you, if only from a practical standpoint, he must be put back into the service of the USA.
3 time help was denied.fucking pussy president. Bush would of drop bombs on those cocksuckers. While this bitch.ass president fucks the nation little by little.
