Rasmussen Poll has it at a dead tie. 46% with 5% undecided and 3% for other. We need that 8%. All other polls suck. Yahoo everyday says that the Odiferous one is leading.
I hope all the polls show Obama winning by a landslide and the commies don't even bother going out to vote. But I have a bad feeling the idiots in this country are going to get the servitude they are asking for.
We only needed the electoral college before we had mass communications. The delegates would ride on horse back, stage, train or boat to cast their votes that were given to them by the electorate. What say do you have now? This must go and the primaries and the general election will take care of this.
Get rid of it. The two party system is too strong. Correct about Calif & New Joke!
real clear politics have some of the best "averaging" of polls, watched a FOX segment today where they were explaining some of these issues.. deal is the polls that use demographics from the pres election of 08 very from the congress election of 10.. in other words thier methodology sucks . The media is going to help to a degree here.. if thiers a belief O has this won the turn out from the left might reflect this..
related note on this.. the mail in ballots help the dem's big time.. lot easier to just mark the square and send it in than getting out and voting..
a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.
are another example of HOW the media are complicit with the O campaign to misinform or disinform. Using 08 weightings is prima facie evidence. No professional, objective pollsters would be caught dead, doing that.

I like the electoral college as the founders intended. They didn't like the idea of a popular vote due to the potential of tyranny of the majority. Which we are seeing right now. It's still better than tyranny of the minority, but the goal was to remove tyranny completely. The only part of government that was supposed to directly represent the people was the house of reps.
Madison stated the purpose of the electoral college was to find a balance between individual representation and communal/state representation. He (and other founders) knew that the majority of populace in the cities would over-represent the aristocracy and the voice of the less populated agrarian regions would be lost.
In my opinion, the reform we need in the electoral college is to remove the winner-take-all system. All districts should be represented and the states electoral votes should be apportioned to this representation. As Nebraska and Maine currently do.

I agree, the electoral system is flawed. I'm not sure what the proper solution would be. But california and new york have way too much influence

I had a post on this once. I'll try to dig it up.
