The one in the back doesn't seem too bad. There are an awful lot of pics floating around out there because females decide to send them to their significant others and forget to take the thumb drives out, or forget to check their pockets for thumb drives when turning uniforms in to the laundry points.

You guys who have been in se asia all know about being in the head, and having the same bar girl who you just bought a drink for come in and squat down along side of ya.. The first time this happened i like to fell over.
For a country boy this was my first heads up that some people are a wee bit diffrent than we are..

Wife's half wit kid bought a truck, can't afford to license it. Bought a WII set for Christmas, comes here to eat 'cause he don't have the $$ to buy food for his wife & kids. Today my hunneykins announced she's giving the dead beat bum $1000 to license his truck.
The problem is that it is HER $$$, not mine. It always comes out of my pocket in the end though.

that walked the beat in Cavite, one bad ass copper, carried a shotgun most of the time. Once I was sitting in a bar and the girl closed the shutters and locked the door 'cause a gunfight was about to begin. It did, a bloody one. Big cop laid waste to some street punks.
The chic going pee was in Yokosuka. I was aboard Ticonderoga then.
Oh, yeah, I was at Sangley in 1965 with VP-9. We had a mishap, plane ran off the runway, main gear sunk into the mud. Prop broke off and went through the radioman. Messy as hell inside the tube.

Sorry about the troop in 65 (you beat me by two years) I can imagine what that must have been like. A hamilton standard is one bad thing to think about. I told you i sat in that radio seat a lot, and remember the red line down the inside of the tube.. WOW. Don't remember the big cop, but do remember how they would get the word and lock up. Gun fire was NOT unusual in Cavite. Funny i know a lot of asia vets hate rice, but i still remember the street venders fried rice, served in newspaper cones. Wonder if they deliver to AZ.

to Udorn, out in the boonies. Went on to Dodge, Diego Garcia and Nairobi Kenya. Some crews went to Abu Dahbi but I think Kenya was nicer. We stopped for R.O.N. at some micro islands I can't even remember but it was great.
Yep, those big ol' Ham Standard paddles were impressive, especially when I was pulling bomb rack pins in the bomb bay with 4 turnin' :<)

No word on Snake. I've sent him a couple of emails to his home email, but no answer. This all happened right at the time of the big storm on the east coast, which was to hit parts of VA hard. His town of Haysi is on the western side of VA.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man. (Mark Twain).

Did they have 52 in utapau (or utapao not sure which but i cant spell anyway so...) Buffs with 8 79's are beyond belief. We did a trip to Idaho that i know everone is bored hearing about, but wanted to swing by mt. home to show the wife what a buff looked like on V1. The deal was that the base was to far off the interstate, and we were on the return part of the trip so it didn't happen.. Never did Nairobi, or abu dahbi, We did Rota, and Kef. Iceland, but i guess i always though of myself as a south china sea type. Stick around for a min. gona find an old post about a plane that you will get a kick out of.. its somewhere in the archive..back in one.

On previously mentioned Columbia Eagle mission we were running on fumes coming into Utapao but the Bifs were using the runway to go spoil Ho Chi Mins day. They wanted us to orbit all day but the pilot got a space big enough for the tiny P-3 to squeeze into, it got nervous sometimes.

Out side of being hauled to the other side of the world on a 141.. That was something. Don't know if you ever did Brunswick or not, but the strip was just like Sangleys. Short and single.. But on Oct sompen in 67 the whole strip.. least it looked like it, was taken up by a MAC 141 (i was to new to rate flying in our birds)I still remember thinking, that plane is about a fifth as long as the runway! we did the northern route to someplace in Alaska that was like a hollywood movie. just pure flat white. Then a huge iron door opens up from the ground and we went down to a pretty neat galley, all A/F.. My memmories of Utapau is similar, the boys in blue walking along calling each other (O's and NCO's) by thier first name..

there was a war going on.
My first flight on a 141 was from Tinker to Dover, from Dover to Spain. They had a crew change at Dover and the ?plane captain? load master? anyway, some enlisted puke with a big head told me I had to get off 'cause they were flying "a mission", I asked what the mission was, he said flying mail to Kuwait. Gawd was I impressed. Anyway a fewe minutes later a very cute and very petite girl in a zoom bag came to the plane. She was a sir of Captain rank, she ask what going on, the guy said I wanted to ride but they were flying "a mission". She told me to climb aboard and we'd be on our way. That cutie handled that plane like a champ!
