And all of us working in healthcare are gonna be getting change on our paychecks too. I have seen the pay scale for my line of work go down considerably since 1996. I just took a 6 dollar/hour pay cut to keep doing the same job in the same state. When Obama gets through with healthcare "reform", I might be getting my pay cut in half. If that happens, I will leave medicine and become a greeter at Walmart. If they think that healthcare professionals are in short supply now, just wait until they cut the pay. All of us old, experienced hands will jump and run from here like someone is shooting at us. There will be a mad exodus of good medical folks, heading for more lucrative employment and all you will have left is rookie, no mileage, mediocre healthcare workers that don't know their asses from a hole in the ground. It will be just like the post office, when they gave the older hands the option for early retirement. The ones left didn't know beans from bullshit about delivering mail.

Everything is going great here. I am busier than I have been in quite some time and don't get on here as often as I want.
I am very worried about this socialist healthcare proposal that the White House is attempting to pass. It will destroy our healthcare system as we know it and will transform it into the healthcare system that Britain and Canada have, and quite frankly, their healthcare systems suck. I don't want to work in that kind of system and it scares me a little bit. I have been in medicine for so long now, I don't know how to do much else, so I don't want them to mess with it. At this stage of my life, I can't start over in a new field. I simply can't afford it, so I worry about it.
On a positive note...I got married to a beautiful girl, had a wonderful honeymoon in the mountains of north Georgia. She loves football, guns, occational partying, dining out at fine restaurants and she can put up with all my crap. What more could a guy ask for? "She asked me the other day, "When are you gonna buy a new gun?" I may be one of the luckiest guys on Earth. We totally dig each other and she wants more guns. Wooooooo-Hoooooo!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get back home in the morning!!!
