Christmas drinking

Christmas drinking

I would like to share an experience with you all, about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many beers and some rather nice shots. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home. I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got it!

This story is 100% true (gospel, don't say that lightly) it led to my "nick" i had for 30 plus yrs..

An upscale joint in Rota Spain.. Had dance routines etc.. This was a haunt of Officers, and as a rule we (enlisted) avoided it.. As you military types know O's and E's don't socialize outside of Hollywood WWII movies.

The evening started well.. A couple of the pilots (O's) were already two sheets to the wind when my Buddie and i got there.. The place is packed, the O's asked us to join them at their table.. This was pretty unusual even tho we had had two tours (including SE Asia).. Believe me it was still "sir" etc.

As the evening wore on (maybe 35 min) we had slammed down enough hard stuff that pain was a thing of the past.. The bar maid was a beauty, and wore the french maid outfit that barely covers (ok padre's gotta stop here) her hmm assets.. One of the O's says thinking that it will get no response.."man i'd like to take a bite outa that" YEP!! I leaned over and took a bite outa that... Course the O's fell apart.. Would have been cool, but next thing you know were being chased out the door (least me and my buddy) by some good sized (and sober) Spanish guys..

Next thing i know the SP shows up.. Not my fault they left the old chevy step side idling.. They go in the bar.. I get in the SP truck.. it's an old 3 on the tree.. i was in such bad shape i couldn't find the clutch, or at least get the clutch and gear shift to work as any type of cohesive unit..

I'm in first laughing like a loon (ya think) when the SP who didn't even have to break into a run opens the door.. This was my first experience wearing cuffs.. Don't remember much but at the capt's mast i got lucky.. they had a statement i had written the night before. Don't remember much except it was pretty funny, and didn't incriminate any of the O's.. i got off REAL lucky, and had like a month confined to work/barracks..

Christmas drinking

Going through 'basic' at Cape may NJ, me and my bud decided to go off base and go golfing (we had leave somewhat, had to be back for afternoon formation)........

A little back story, my 'bud' was a 'fuck up' from the start and 'drill instructors' had an eye on him, anywho, we ended up playing nine holes and lost track of time and missed afternoon formation.

Our fellow recruits covered for us (cough! here!!!!!) during roll call, well drill instructors knew he was absent (watching him like a hawk) but they didn't know who was with him. I fessed up to my CO that I was the one with him, and in doing so, I avoided punishment.

However!!!! because my fellow recruits covered for me/us, they PT'd our ASS.....I owe them all....
