Yep, weather's turning a bit warm, found myself back in Iraq again for a few seconds yesterday while driving past some scraggly-looking cows in a shitty little hovel out in the sticks. Today's a good day, but range time still won't happen for a bit. DAMN MY SICK KID AND WIFE!!!!

Nothing bad, no flashback or anything like that, just a few seconds of being back. God, I really want to go back. I've called and emailed everyone I can think of to try and get a deployment and all I've found is a one year move to Gitmo, or a one year tour in Turkey. It's a sad state when a soldier wants to go back, when my wife wants to get me out of the house because I'm becoming difficult to live with, but the army says no.

interesting place. They actually like Americans and go out of their way to be friendly. Well, there was this one policeman who insisted on showing me the business end of his machine gun. He was showing off to his buddy by trying to intimidate me. But I managed to buy a couple of bottles of wine for 16,000,000 turkish dollars paid with a 20,000,000 bill so i got 4,000,000 back in change. They've got better Greek ruins there than they have in Greece itself.

It's available in September, so I have a few months to try and beg a real deployment. I'll take it if all else fails, but a deployment where I have a truck, belt-fed gun, and HE toys is preferred.

My uncle retired out of the Air Force, was in at the begining.. Enlisted in the army air corp.. quite an old boy.. Buried down on Runs post. He had two daughters, one married REAL well, this guy is from Turkey, and they live there.. I have no idea how this all came about, it all happened during that 20 odd years of my life that i have hmmm lets just say "vague" memories of.. Anyway when my Uncle died she came back for the funeral, and it was one of those diamond and mink things.. The other daughters got into exotic dancing, and last we heard (shes over the hill now) she was part owner of a strip joint someplace in Nevada..
I'll leave the obvious unsaid, but i always thought the one here was more honest..

They are predicting blizzard conditions for
parts of Oklahoma tomorrow and snow as
far south as Dallas. That sucks
