Nice Colt. I beleive they made the troopers before the python series. I just saw one on gunsamercia for 650, but it was blued. Hang on to that puppy. I've heard they are very well made. Colt isn't making any wheel guns anymore, which is a shame.

Colt Trooper

The original Trooper predated the Python, but the Trooper MKIII and MKV were contemporary. I was never a fan of the MKIII, but liked the MKV very well indeed. The Peacekeeper was essentially identical mechanically to the MKV, but the finish was dull - less expensive model. The MKV was succeeded by the King Cobra, which was the last in the series.

As they were made at the same time.. I was never that crazy about the trooper either Bob, lot of that had to do wiith price, i always felt that while the Python might represent perfection, the trooper was a tad over priced. Besides that as most of my shooting was double action, the whole Colt "stack" thing sorta took away any debate. Just couldn't see the extra when you could get a near perfect K or L out of the box for so much less. That being said of all the guns ive traded away the only ones i could really kick myself about are Colts.. Go figure..

Old gal in the neighborhood has an old "flat latch" police positive in 38spl, bout 80%, doesn't index or lock up.. Id buy it in a second and ship it up to greasy, but she has an inflated opnion on the worth.. Remember this is just a std police positive avg finnish, non worker.. She tells me she thinks its worth around 350 bucks.. I didn't want to embarass her with an offer.

Sounds like maybe $100. Very little collector interest unless they're 98% or above. I'd let her keep it.

I don't know about whimp, but, I sure do like warm weather more the older I get.
Ya'll give me a couple of weeks on the "post your target" deal. The daughters car got totaled and I am committed to car shopping next weekend.

I don't know how you guys use our little home away from home, but i come on, check pms, hit forums (usta check posts) check comments, then just have fun opening home.. get lost in a video..

Hamp that miniature thing was a trip buddy, loved it.. or i look thru pictures sometimes as my sat system is a bit slower than what you guys deal with..

So anyway here i am hitting home and i see this Colt trooper.. i open it to see what the comments are.. Sorta embarrassing, this is only 10-11 months ago.. but i swear i don't remember seeing it before..

Remember the threads ok, but then again they all sorta run together.. ok i run on.. what ever.. Got to go troops Gloria just called shes heading north out of town (driving thru Larrys AO) .. By the way Pard did "finally" post that target he was talking about.. tight group if i remember to.. Probably stood like 15 ft instead of yards in front of it to do it..

Oh yeah maybe that was me hmm..
