You made these?
Made them from a piece of precision ground Damascus Steel. Started out .157" thick and 1-1/4" wide. Had enough material to make 3 blades out of one stick. Thankyou for the compliments.
again they are sweet..
I've been kicking around the idea of trying out one of the Tonto kits but putting Scales on it instead of the traditional cord wrapping...
that sounds good. I like the idea
http://stores.ebay.com/Alabama-Damascus-Steel for the damascus steel blank. This is not a kit knife. I had to cut it to the shape then put the angles on it. My next plan is to do a bigger tanto tipped blade. Overall lenght around 14" to 16".
I'd rather start with flat steel also...
you did a fantastic job shaping the tonto for sure...
I do buy my screws, taps, and handle scale material from them. Even the Kydex sheath material and rivits.
I believe that is the pattern that I got. Smokey Mountain Knife Works has a cheaper random pattern that I will be trying next. I bought the piece from the above link that was 16 1/2" long for $60 after shipping and handling.
