No matter if she's as beautiful as this gal or as ugly as a mud fence...No American Women In Combat! This is a shameful.
You may think it's shameful. I don't agree. She made a choice, and there she is. Anyone, and I mean anyone that joins, made a choice and knew the could possibly deploy. I don't care if she joined for the GI bill or whatever. It looks to me like she is doing her job. GOD BLESS HER! Don't misunderstand me, I don't necessarily agree with with it, but by no means is this shameful!
I not sayng SHE should be ashamed at all. SHE shouldn't. Our country should be though. A nation this big and this powerful should not let women go in to combat. Like you said, GOD BLESS HER.
Women belong in combat as well as men. In Isreal all young women and young men are in the military, except the super orthodox ones. A woman can kill a soldier just as dead as any man can kill him.
Women have the right to protect there country as do us men. I would be damn proud to serve at the side of a woman in battle. This is in no way shamful! This is proof that a woman is willing on her own free will to fight and die if needed for her country to keep it free.
Wife and i raised three daughters, I wanted them to go into the service, didn't happen. I understand where your coming from, but gota back mike, and snake on this one.. If a woman wants to serve in combat (do think this should be volunter status) I think its great. Israles have been doing it for last 40 years are so. The picture makes me proud, and bet her folks are as well
As Greg says, Israeli women have been doing this for years, ever since their fight to establish the state of Israel. They're still doing it, & very well. Viet Cong women were quite deadly, as were the Russian women in WWII. If US women volunteer for combat duty, I believe they should be given the opportunity. It's their country too, & if they want to fight & die for it, I appreciate it.
I think but not 100% sure but I think most of the russian snipers of WWII were female. I will have to do more research on it to find out.
They actually had a sniper school just for Russian women in WWII. I also agree, If they wanna fight for their country more power to them!
There was a documentary that spoke on one of their best, I can't remember her name though. I'm sure snake will put up a post though
Yeah ecaman, i forgot the Russians. Not sure what her kill numbers were, but i remember she was s...hot when it came to putting 7.62X54's in German troops.
a woman wants to fight for her country, good for her!
because it has your avatar on the topic!SHAMEFUL!
But i feel that she knew as well as any man knows that when they sighn on the line that they may end up on the battelfield. The women have faught in battels for centuries and many are quite adept at it. It is there decision to put there life on the line for there country and ALL of the people wearing the uniform should be thanked and respected for it!
They should have the same jobs as men if they are competant. I met many female Marines that could hack it. They get the same pay at their grade. Why should they be treated any differently?
I read somewhere that female snipers were statistically more effective because they were able to function alone... did not need another person to "share the kill responsibility" in order to pull the trigger.
You go girls, kick some terrorist B?$#
don't need to "share the kill responsibility".There is a shit load of people i could pull the trigger on and sleep like a baby afterward.
Go ahead go up to her and slap her I dare you. A women wanting to protect and defend is as good as it gets and they are very professional. These ladies are mean as any man.If thats shamefull then your giving them a bad name.
Laughing at all the wantabe libers who think were all a bunch of dinosours because of our intrest in guns. As a father of girls it makes me proud to see all of us on the same page here. I think we all know women are so much diffrent than we are emotionaly its scary.. But when it comes to doing a job.. They can "make it happen" just like any of us, and usually smell better doing it. One of the great untold "hero" stories of WWI is the women who flew the bombers, and transport planes from Calif. to England. Most always these were half tested due to time, and they would take off and do the northern route over Canada, refuel in Newfundland then across the atlantic. if they were lucky they had a crew of three, and if they went down rescue was NOT an option.. Those gals had more guts than all the oprfondas in the world.
That was another good point greg. There are lots of times in history, on both sides of any conflict, that women made contributions for their countries.
The Brits, French, and S. Koereans also have women soldiers. The first female Korean soldier I ever saw was a tough as nails sergant major. I also have to agree with Demo. As an Army MP I served along side some very capable women who wanted to do the job, knew the risk involved, and wanted to take on the task any way. In fact, I remember a 19 yr woman in my platoon in Iraq who was received minor injuries from an IED blast and insisted that she be allowed to assist in the search for the bomber. I can think of sevearl more I knew who would have charged hell with fixed bayonets if that is what the job called for and I for one am proud to have served with them. There is no shame in women serving in combat,if they choose to do so.
I can understand that some men worry that the pretty little piece of tail will get ugly bullet hole scars, legitimate concerns but there are plenty of guys who would not care or who would actually find something to like about scars. In my early military years I was stationed with an EOD guy who prefered women with serious physical "differences".
RAGHEADS want our women dead as much as the men, so I am all for it...let the women out there, we have some very strong willed women serving.
common now it hardly seems worth a second look. My only objection is when they wanted split-tails on submarines. That would involve billions of $$ making it boys & girls potties, boys and girls compartments. Cheaper to just give them their own boat.
is standards being changed dramatically to incorporate women into combat units just for the sake of having them. If a man has to run so far, so fast, shoot with a certain degree of accuracy, etc...then the women should also meet a standard. As far as anything to do with strength...maybe I can understand a lowered standard (now ladies reading this don't get upset), but overall men are stronger physically than women. What I am saying though, is...if airborne army units require stricter standards for their men vs the standard army infantryman, then a stricter standard must also be applied for the women vs women in other jobs...etc. This goes back to everyone doing their jobs to the best of their ability and protecting the person next to them.
physical standards to accomodate chicks. A Marine is a Marine, outside plumbing or countersunk they all had to meet the same standards.
I wonder if they have quietly bowed to pressure from the leftists now, have you heard?
but then again I was Air Force, but I rather doubt they changed standards...I mean, if a woman cannot carry her shit, what good is she?

From what I see...a perfect score male versus female is very similar except women do Flexed Arm Hang while men do pullups...which goes back to strength. For a woman to really cement the respect of her fellow Marines, doing pullups, especially if she could get to 20 would put her over the top...it is possible also, because I dated a female bodybuilder years ago and she could definitely do 20 pullups...for sure!!! Haha.
