Love it. That's what I think of when they say how ridiculous it is to believe in God.

Yeah, not likely. That's really why they irritate me. I personally don't care what religion a person believes, or none at all. But these hypocrites are always lambasting religion and preaching non-religion, and then scream about how religion is forced on them. They act as though the mere presence of a cross or nativity scene, etc. is forcing religion on them. Asshats.

Don't get me wrong .. Not a lot of "practicing" stoners among the baptists.. but the logic is so close.. Just another version of the same "i'm not only right, but im the only way"..

You guys know the old joke, St Pete's giving a tour.. comes to one room and hushes those with him.. get by the room.. says sorry..thats the baptist room.. they think there the only ones up here.

The absurdity of saying there isn't anything is so loaded with intellectual blindness, and made even worse as its normally espoused (is that shit hot or what) .. got myself all tickled.. Ok back to logic, it's normally held by those who pride themselves on intellectual openness.. I can understand an agnostic view, to say you don't know is valid, and i held that belief for years..

Here's my reason for belief .. hmm.. maybe 2 thousand and thirty six.thru thirty eight.

Miracles.. do they exist... Thats a pretty simple answer.. very, as in a serious minority of those in academia, or other primary bastions of intellectualism doubt that some form of miracles have occurred in the past.. To deny that "any" miracle has occurred is pretty absurd, and once you open that door.. so simple.. If one can occurred than how can anyone doubt that another did..

Bang!! ha ha.. The Universe is constantly expanding.. the big bang theory..(from a member of the clergy by the way) is not without dissent, but excepted by more than opposed.. whats behind that bang. miraculous beyond our conception, and even if you can come up with some theory thats purely scientific.. tell me why with everything spinning in the same direction (talking about the Coriolis effect here, the spin of the earth creates weather patterns at the equator) Why then do some of the planets rotate in different directions than others.. ours is the only system thats currently measurable, but the effect is defied inside our solar system..ergo.. (yep shit hot!!)

Life.. Not the origin thing, and even there while microevolution exists constantly macro has yet to be found.. ie .. the fish can lose its eyes and develop other senses, but has yet to turn into a bird. I know this might get some challenge.. check first.. i did.. i except evolution. this surprised me..

I could go on and on.. How can any of us watch our discovery or nat geo channels and be blown away by the miracles of migration.. Very few days go by where i won't read or see something that is beyond explanation.. I know evil exists.. from a scientific point of view that almost proves the existence of divinity..that whole everything has an opposite thing ..

I know all about doubt.. doubt is easy.. The concept of free will explains it all to me.. If life were perfect there would be no reason not to have faith.. I have respect for those who doubt..even St Teresa had written she had her share of doubt.. To be so positive as an atheist shows a lack of intellect.. Sure we all like to kid about the "snake handlers".. I do anyway..but reality is faith in our Lord (not religion) doesn't mean you have to check your mind at the door..

Intolerance

Don't get me wrong. I know there are the self righteous piety out there feeling holier-than-thou, but my empirical research via existence indicates that is the rarity while the holier-than-thou, pious, self-righteous atheists or even agnostics seem to be the norm.

Most other Christians I know are afraid to say "bless you" when someone sneezes for fear of being demonized as an intolerant religious extremist.
