Not a lot of wood walkin' going on anymore. 'Course them steel poles are kinda hard to climb.
are high tension lines are they not? (I don't know shit from shinola) Yeah, them 'lineman' cleats don't stick into steel real good do they?...lol
Fiberglass Cowboys refers to the linemen in the buckets. (insulated with fiberglass)
Yep, high tension, pulling around 4000lb per conductor.

Fleabear, nothing like a 'fudge sickle' to calm you down!!!! LMFAO!!!
My step dad has worked for a phone company for 30 years and I worked for them for 3 summers and then full time for a little over 2 years. One of the summers I was on the construction crew and one of the places we were burying cable had a crew there with the "leggings" as they called them. Our equipment broke down and while the mechanic was working on it they noticed I was bored as hell and asked me if I wanted to try "wood walking" I said sure and next thing I knew I was at the top of one of the old poles, which had no power or phone cables attached anymore. I didn't mind the going up part, it was the coming back down part I didn't like too much. He showed me some of his scars from quick descending trips.
