Finnished Nepalese Gahendra

Finnished Nepalese Gahendra

I finally restored my historical piece to shoot for fun. A Nepalese Gahendra. .458 cal nose thumpin, shoulder bruisin monster. Designed origionally by Martini/Henry for Queen Victorias boys to whup up on anything she thought needed to die. I can't wait to load some up for her in Amarillo later this month.

Still getting over the "publicly stated maldiction".. that one tickled me so much i did a paste/copy and (obviously) still have it..

On the Martini/henri.. Beautiful.. i've followed adds for this riflle.. Least what i think is this rifle on SGN's sites for some time.. Is this the piece they advertise.. If so they have a choice of two bayos for your baby..

well done..

I don't know SGN ,but this one was purchased from IMA. One of the things I liked most was the craftsmanship that went into it from the beginning. This piece was hand fitted from day one. If I can put enough $ together this fall I might attempt a restoration on an official Maritni Henry. Right now the Gahendra just wows the heck out of me. Thank you for the kudos and beyo news.

Which way are my people going? I have to lead them there!

SGN.. Shotgun news.. For anyone not familure with SGN.. thier a hold over from the days of print media.. Not what they were.. SGN was a listing of all guns by catagory.. For those of you who have never seen an older (talking 70's thru 80's) SGN these were a firearms addicts dream.. Cheap rates to sell your piece, and seperate catagorys for all.. ie.. militarry pre WWII, military post WWII, all handguns broken down by mfg and type, and all listed with price.. Really was a winner.. Something happened around the turn of the century, and now just an advertising format.. Still a good read, but not what it was.. IMA has been with them from the start (international military arm) the Martini Henry has been offered in all iderations from as far back as i remember, and yep a couple of bayos available..

The main one was a spike T shaped blade that Geneva convention outlawed (humanitarian considerations).. As it happens i have one of these that will fit your MH.. This is more sword than bayo, but designed for the MH..long sucker, beautiful wood hilt (match with rifle) brass handguard.. These aren't all that expensive, and come with a belt frog.. I just have the bayo/sword lol..Might hang it up when we move.. Neat as it dates to the boar war era, and just flat cool to have anything made with the first two dates of 18.

"if" you can't find one at a good price, and should you come up with a trade that sounds like fun i'll be happy to send this to you.. PM me if interested.. Know this would mean a lot more to you than me, and not the least interested in "profiting"..Right now mines gathering dust in the closet..

copy of SGN until I was able to get a hold of a copy of Playboy.
You name it you could buy it, cheap. Egyptian Remington Rolling Blocks, every Mauser in rifle & pistol. Walther P38s, Carcano 6.5 and de-mil'ed Thompson SMGs. Even anti-tank recoiless rifles!
Crap, who needs Playboy!!!!!

With you Lou.. I also remember the fantastic deals.. Back when SGN was full of actual for sale by owner firearms.. I can distinctly remember when original SAA's were common enough that while they were pricey, their were a number of them in every issue.. Same thing with all those you mentioned.. Even issues inside the last 15 years have had deals.. Does anyone else remember the FN Belgian Hi Powers.. This one irks me as i came close.. defined as cutting out the add and checking account balances.. Not sure why i didn't get "them" .. that was the plan, and it went to the point of purchase as a great price.. two page add that ran for a couple months..They had the three things im a sucker for ladder sights out to (think) 500M.. lanyard loop, and spur/roe hammer..

On the playboys..This was before pupic hair and gyn photos.. just nips, and cheeks, and enough.. We all had fiiends who had Dads or brothers who got either PB or Stag.. (that bring back memorys for geezers).. man did we all try to wear that thing out.. will spare the details, but i can't imagine how kids today can just type in .... and get it ALL.. think we (ok i) would have worn it out..

Geezers and Playboy

One of those WTF kinda deals.
So Ms December 2011 is from hometown. I know her parents, hell we all know her parents, and her.
So another girl goes for it and gets a photo shoot, swings by the house to borrow a pair of shoes from my daughter for the shoot. HUH?
So saturday Ms Dec comes by and borrows a bikini top for another shoot she's going to. HUH?
What the hell are my daughters clothes doing in Playboy? This better not be leading up to something.
Course we had to go buy the Dec issue : )

I know, sounds like a tall tale. True, every word. Still shaking my head.

you don't tell tall tales.. or tails.. I bet that was the first playmate that you had a hard time with.. That came out wrong..Cause of age and all.. Yeah that came out a lot better. meant her age.. Never mind..
