I really like this pistol and have shot it a number of times. Very fast target acquisition with factory installed sight, even faster with the factory installed red dot.
Lower felt recoil than expected, 15+1 rounds of 45 ACP starting out and 2 15 round mags ready to go in the pocket or mag pouch means your ready for anything as far as equipment goes.
FN's hold their value and the quality is there without saying. If I was looking for a high capacity 45 this would be one I definitely would hold as a top contender for narrowing down choices.
In general I do not care for Polymer frame pistols as I like the heft or an all metal frame. This is one of the few exceptions to my tastes. H&K and Taurus OSS 24/7 are the others, though I am growing fonder of the Glock as I handle and fire customized version.

this thing is sweet. Its very similar to a USP. It will probably be my next pistol purchase, but still have a few rifles ahead of it.

Sergio and Billy both have them. I like the thought they put into the whole package. Even the case is top of the line in my opinion. Hell that one detail alone buts FN at the top of the food change where quality, design and customer satisfaction are a Company goal.
Very nice shooting with both the AAC and Surefire Can's on them too.

for a smaller DA/SA poly pistol, the FNX is pretty sweet also.

I haven't shot that yet but I'm sure it will be just as well thought out.
I almost picked up a used FNP 45 but the guy wanted $575.00 for it and wouldn't budge when I could buy a new one for $50.00 less. He was the third owner too, though the second one never shot it, just bought it and held onto it for a month before selling it to Dave.

yeah, at that price it makes sense just to buy a new one. The regular FNP 45's are priced pretty good in my opinion. I tell everyone looking at an HK 45 to atleast try the FNP. They are pretty similar and you can save a couple hundred. Nothing against HK's, they're top notch, but I think FN has a good offering.

I've shot both quite a bit over the last few years and I actually like the FN trigger much more. Sergio is into all three, Sig, FN and HK and always the top of the line models. I really didn't care much for the HK 45 Experts trigger that much. It seemed to have a really long staging area, I guess that is designed so you can let off if you decide not to press through. But the FN's trigger was smooth straight through to the break.
The HK reminded me of the Keltec PMR 30 trigger but not as stiff.

My preference would be to remove the red dot. Other than that thats a sweet lookin pistol. Im a revolver fan but as each day goes by I am gettin in to more semis and liking it. Nice pistol again.
