I lived in the Chicago area (Lyons) for a few years. IL has an FOID (firearm owner identification card). If you're approved, you get a card and can own a firearm. You can't carry it, & there are limited places to shoot it, but you can own it.
ebear, I'm sure you're very familiar with this.
2 states don't acknowledge the 2nd Amendment to the US constitution, yet they had to acknowledge the constitution in order to become a state.
yes ur right...the chicago gun ban goes before the Supreme Court soon, and will likely be overturned. So mabey things will open up here.....
I REALLY hope that the Chicago gun ban is overturned. When I lived in Lyons I had a friend from Chicago who was a Walther P38 collector & authority. He had mortal hell getting approval from the city every time he wanted to buy another gun. People from the city would drive out to Midwest Shooting Supplies very close to me to shoot, since places in the city were so limited.
i know the place , and shoot there often...there is a also a place called Illinois guns that is closer and i go there too.
I hope the gun ban will be overturned. I have always lived in a place where one could carry, or no problem with having a gun. Don't have to ask a city if I can buy a gun. I am very fortunate to have this right.
When I bought my Glock-26 last week, I called my Buddy in Tulsa, told him I needed to go to the bank, then we met in Wal-mart parking lot. I filled out the paper (made some check marks) signed it, he called in to see if I was a Felon, or a loon, he finished the call, (maybe two Mins.)
gave him some cash, he handed me the BADASS Black Box. I had an instant erection!!!!
This took 10 minutes to do, in a parking lot, broad daylite, cameras around, and two real AMERICANS doing business!!!!! Nancy Pee (sorry) P. would have had a SHYTE fit!!
Vote out all Libs. and we could have a copie of the second amendment in our back pocket, saying
This Is My Carry Permit.
