Change you can truly believe in comes from the barrel of a gun---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ron Paul 2012----Vote the bastards out!---------------------------------
What model Mosin did you get?
Round or hex receiver. 91/30?
How accurate?
I don't have a big bore gun in my collection. I just thought I should have one Thunder Stick.
Who is a reliable seller?
What kind of prices?
four Nagant's all round receiver, three are 91/30 one of which is a Genuine sniper variant and one M-44 carbine, two are Tula and two are Izhevsk. I bought the three of my nicer ones from gunbroker as you get to see the picture of the actual rifle, the other one I got through AIM surplus while being cheaper it wasn't quite as nice, so I am turning it into a sporter. Prices can range from around $79.95 to a couple hundred, It's worth while to shop around, some of the guy's on gunbroker are awful proud of some of their stuff, and should look forward to keeping it....LOL
Change you can truly believe in comes from the barrel of a gun---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ron Paul 2012----Vote the bastards out!---------------------------------
but they have gotten pricey.
The Mosin is still reasonable and I like that long ass barrel.
I saw one on the internet, in fact I think I put the video up here, was reaching out to 700 yards.
Now I will need good optics because my old eyes ain't that great for detail.
I am sure that that thing could stop a car motor at 2-300 yds or so.
My thought was a 91/30, trigger job if it needs it, ATI Monte Carlo stock and some good optics.
Mosin <$100.00
Adj trigger $94.00
ATI stock $59.00
Optics ? I have one on something here
Mount $30.00

that my favorite shooter is the M-44 carbine, but my fav to look at is one of my Tula 91/30's absolutely flawless.
Change you can truly believe in comes from the barrel of a gun---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ron Paul 2012----Vote the bastards out!---------------------------------
Pictures really don't do it justice and my M-44 carbine
Only one rifle was harmed today, I had the sniper variant out of the cabinet and eager pup knocked it over and broke the aluminum scope mount Grrrrrrrr! Oh well, can't blame the pooch, she didn't know any better....anybody got a scope mount for a Nagant they wan't to sell?
Change you can truly believe in comes from the barrel of a gun---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ron Paul 2012----Vote the bastards out!---------------------------------
I would pay the extra $10 for a hand pick best out of five, but then again I have my C&R so I don't have to pay for FFL transfers for these particular weapons.

That cartoon is a hoot st J.. an aside here, im having a hard time with my pick..will get it up, but if anyone has any suggestions shoot me a pm..
Sam.. had the same thoughts on having a large caliber.. liked the nagant.. but got the SMLE as it was free.. For what it's worth i had looked and was going to get one last year, and didn't like the attitude of the kid working the desk at J&G. (unusual & first time)..any way im in the process of making it a shooter with the same thoughts (scary shit huh) as you..
The debate did pull me away last night.. this is the fifth i've watched and far and away the best. thought Newt was rock'n.. warming to both Perry and Santorm.. will see.. I will say that Romney looked "vulnerable" for the first time.. one great debate..

This wasn't as much fun as I hoped. I guess everyone knows I don't really believe this and am a big shit talker? Or (more likely) most regulars here are too smart than to get in an argument over this since we know the best sidearm is the one you can hit your mark with. I guess this should stir the hornets nest when some lurkers come through. ;)
I'm sure that I would like it, I like anything that goes BANG! I just don't have an urgent need for one at the moment........you'll notice I said urgent........lol
Change you can truly believe in comes from the barrel of a gun---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ron Paul 2012----Vote the bastards out!---------------------------------
the " best sidearm is the one you can hit your mark with" comment.. thats ZAKLY right.. Still get a kick out of the ..what was it 64 lbs of energy.. Course the old 32 colt that Gloria will no doubt use to shoot me with one of these days is so slow you can pretty much move out of the way..
are you guys picking up on the actions of the cruise ship capt.. this guy shouldn't be running second shift at safeways produce dept.. with apologies to produce dept managers for the comparison.. His actions are at best cowardly, and very possibly criminal.. they have him under house arrest at the moment..
While im rambling (and hijacking the saints post) what did ya all think about the debate.. They were "throw'n down" last night.. Apparently most feel that Newt won.. but will see on Sat..
a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.
Don't worry about hijackin' this thread. It's the GS way. About the debates, it's just going to start getting uglier from here. Hope they don't sling so much mud that people forget how bad Obozo is.
I did not see it when Reagan got his years ago but for a crowd to do it at what is called a debate is interesting.
I don't think much of the debates as they are being run, they're not serving much purpose until the moderators lose control and the candidates actually debate.
Santorum and Perry presented themselves better than in earlier shows.
I was surprised that Romney looked like he got blindsided a couple of times.
My candidate is not in the race so I'll sit back and see what shakes out.
absolutely and criminal....For sure, a captain ALWAYS goes down with his ship or at least stays on board until all passengers are accounted for and not to mention his obvious recklessness in the first place. Did you catch the transcript of the conversation between him and the Commodore of the CG? Absolutely deplorable, he wouldn't give a straight answer because he knew that he was busted.
Change you can truly believe in comes from the barrel of a gun---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ron Paul 2012----Vote the bastards out!---------------------------------
FOX has been playing them in Italian with English subtitles.. the erererer (in deference to real Capts) guy who USTA operate the cruise ship was "blessed" with an ICG capt who's the real deal.. You guys will all see when you hear what hamps talking about. It's almost hollywood.. one absolute winner, and one absolute looser.. My guess is the guy had to have some skills are he wouldn't have reached that levil.. who knows.. maybe it's the first time he's ever been in a situation of panic..
Heard a term that was new to me the other day.. called an "alarm storm" guess the\ve ID it as one of the causes of aircraft accidents.. due to liability all system manufactures have an alarm built in..
IE what ever company you buy any flight control that has "in panel" use it will have an alarm built into it .. I knew that the "stick shaker" and sound alarm was in place for stall avoidance.. didn't know that due to liability laws all the instruments have some form of alarm.. So what happens is when one goes off.. in most cases it's tied to a back up system that causes other alarms to go off... Bottom line is that unfortunately you go from a simple single alarm to having MANY of them.. hence alarm storm. and pretty obvious what happens when you elevate a minor problem to major incident.. again this is something there fighting but the issue is based in liability.. uh.. think we need tort reform..
course then again if we had tort reform we'd lose lawyers like john edwards who specialized in this sort of thing.. uh.. john is no relation.. and to prove i have criminal levil ADD let me "drift" over to this thought... Elizabeth edwards.. in her final months on earth..found both the courage and will to divorce the ahole..
a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.
Tort reform needs to happen. Unfortunately, it seems many of our lawmakers are ambulance chasers. BTW, did you see where I found that EARLY Sam post? I think it was his first. If not, one of his very first.
back on track, $200 my Glock 23 outlasts any gun yall have.....maybe even out preform....in similar pistol calibers....shoot, why else would they give them to cops....lol cant trust them with anything!

No sir, he fell into that bullet...
Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!
