of my puppy dog when she was about 3-4 months old: all ears and stubby legs. Now she is 10 1/2 years old, and she still thinks she's a puppy. Still can run like the wind. Easy to train, smartest dog I ever knew, and very loyal and protective.
Only negative is, she does not care for ANY other dogs.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they ticked me off.

You have a very nice looking Shepherd there. He should make you one of the best friends you'll ever have in this world. I've owned two German Shepherds in my life time. Both were black & silver in color and were registered. The first one I owned was when I was a kid growing up. He lived to the old age of 17 years old. Later on in life my wife found a nice married couple in the next state that had a litter of 10 registered German Shepherd pups for sale. So she bought me another black & silver Shepherd as a present. I got him at the right time because a police K9 school bought the other 9 pups and wanted to buy the one I had. My pup was a bruiser from the time he was a pup on up. Fully grown he weighed 140 lbs. He lived to the age of 10 years old. There were around 120 pups bred out of him by many female Shepherds in his 10 years of life. Many of the pups went to places that trained and sold dogs to police departments. Shepherds are the smartest breed of dog I've ever seen. I've fooled with many different breeds, hunting hounds, Beagles, Spaniels, Chow, Labs, Rotts, Doberman, ect. and the Shepherds were by far the smartest and easiest to train. They are very loyal and protective dogs that look for attention from their master and seek only to please him. They are also very territorial dogs that don't like to take a back seat to any other dog. They will pack with other dogs as long as the other dogs understand who's turf their on. After my Shepherd passed away the hurt was too strong and I didn't want to ever go through it again so, I vowed to never get another. I've had several offers from people wanting to give me a pup out of my old dog's blood line but I chose not to take them. A person can get very close to a pet, and when they pass it's like you lost one of your children. They can never be replaced. I can leave my house and go in any direction on the roads from my home and see dogs and grand pups that are out of my old dog. I always smile at the memory's that they bring back of my old dog.
